Mary Mitchell Fashion Illustration Scholarship Fund

All of the costs of the exhibition and book have been underwritten. All funds raised will be contributed to the scholarship fund at the renowned Textiles, Clothing and Design Department at the University of Nebraska.

Dr. Barbara Trout (left), from the University of Nebraska School of Textile, Clothing & Design is delighted to learn the Oscar de la Renta gown from the UNL Collection is one that Mary Mitchell illustrated for a leading Nebraska retailer.

Dr. Trout , Anne Marie Kenny, Project Co-chair and Mary Mitchell (above right) work on formulating illustrations and designer garments for the "Drawn to Fashion" exhibit opening 2012 at the historic art deco Durham Museum in Omaha.

"It is my fondest wish that the scholarship fund at the University of Nebraska can help pave the way for exciting careers for young people who are, today, just like I was as a child ... dreaming of beautiful clothes, and making them, drawing them, selling them ... loving the creative life, and feeling that powerful urge to get involved. Young people who are just like I was ... Drawn to Fashion."
